 Wuna Meng - 2012 Award Winner 

Wuna MengWinner of the 2012 Krannert Debut Artist Award, Wuna Meng has performed solo and chamber recitals on two continents. She has been featured in Beijing’s Palatino Competition for New Music (broadcast on CNN), the Beijing Modern Music Festival, Gilmore International Piano Festival and Atlantic International Music Festival.

Her awards and honors include the winner for Artist Presentation Society Competition (St. Louis, 2012), alternate winner of concerto competition in University of Illinois (2012), and the Charles Ross Fellowship at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is pursuing the Doctorate in Musical Arts at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and she earned her Master’s Degree from the Eastman School of Music. Ms. Meng holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China where she graduated second in her class. She gave her debut recital in Wuhan’s China-Bell Music Hall.

Wuna Meng is currently studying with Professor Timothy Ehlen. Her previous principal teachers include Professor Douglas Humpherys from Eastman School of Music and Professor Ying Wu from Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. She has also attended a series of master classes, and studied with outstanding pianists. This list includes Professor Boris Berman from Yale University, Professor Mi Kyung Kim from Hannover University, Professor Bruce Brubaker from New England Conservatory and Professor Jeremy Lowenthal and Martin Cannin from Juilliard School.
