Artist Presentation Society exists to identify, encourage, and promote exceptional young musicians in the Midwest. Our competition is open to applicants from 16 Midwestern States.

2026-2027 Concerts

           

APS is excited to present former competition winner, Peter Henderson, Principal Keyboardist St. Louis Symphony Orchestra in a recital on January 2027 at the Eliot Chapel.  A versatile pianist, Peter is active as a performer in orchestral, chamber music and solo settings.  He is also Associate Professor of Music at Artist-in-Residence at Maryville University, where he has served on the faculty since 2005.  Musicians like Peter exemplify the way in which APS has been able to support the careers of young musicians.  This will be a truly memorable concert and is a non-ticketed event with donations encouraged and welcomed.

2026-2027 Season Concert Details

 

APS 2026 competition winner, Matthildur Traustadottir, gave a spectacular performance with the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Ward Stare on October 16, 2026.  Her masterful performance of Alexander Glazanov's Violin Concerto - a concerto that is not often performed because of its difficulty was well received by the audience. The program also included The Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein and Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64 by Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky. The program was exciting from beginning to end.
