If you are selected to come to St. Louis for our live auditions on
SATURDAY, APRIL 8, 2017
, here’s what you need to prepare:

REPERTOIRE AND REQUIREMENTS
The live audition repertoire should consist of:
          60-70 minutes of music for instrumentalists and ensembles
          45-60 minutes of music for singers
Selections should reflect programmatic diversity (baroque, classical, romantic, and contemporary) and should demonstrate the applicant’s breadth of technical and artistic abilities.

Please provide a list with the title (including movements where applicable), the composer, the duration of each work, and the overall duration of the repertoire.

Instrumentalists and chamber ensembles should include only complete works.

For strings and wind instruments, a work in which the piano is an equal partner (e.g. a sonata) need not be memorized. However, at least half of the overall audition repertoire must be performed from memory.
Ensemble repertoire need not be memorized.

Singers should submit a balanced program of art songs and arias which demonstrate differences in style. Selections should be in at least 3 languages, one of which is English.

Singers, pianists and guitarists must perform the entire repertoire from memory.

The duration of the audition shall be 20 minutes. The first selection may be chosen by the auditionee.The judges will select additional works from the audition repertoire submitted by the applicant.

MUSIC SCORES
Audition candidates must provide one set of scores of their repertoire for the judges at the time of the auditions. These must be original scores or printed legally from a public domain website. Out of print works which may be legally photocopied are acceptable. Verification is required.

Candidates must abide by the federal copyright law.

EXPENSES
Audition candidates must provide their own accompanists and are responsible for all travel arrangements and expenses.

Snacks, beverages and lunch will be provided to all auditionees.

NOTIFICATION
Winners will be announced at the end of the day. All candidates are invited to join us for the announcement. Time to be determined.
